Botox Eye Lines
Wrinkles, or lines around the eye, may appear from the age of 30 and are usually one of the first signs of ageing. The causes may be multifactorial; however, these hyperfunctional lines may result from repeated contraction of the underlying facial musculature.
The anatomy of hyperfunctional lines in the orbit is intricate. Contraction of the orbicularis oculi muscle is primarily responsible for the clinically observed periorbital crow"s feet. The orbicularis oculi muscle is bordered superolaterally by fibres of the frontalis muscle and medially by the levator palpebrae muscle. Injection of this area requires special recognition of adjacent peri-orbital veins to avoid bruising.
The skin may play a larger role in causing lines in this area, due to the relative lack of fat here compared to other facial areas. The sun can degrade the skin causing a loss of its abilty to ‘snap’ back into place.
Botox Forehead Lines
Wrinkles or lines on the forehead may appear from the age of 20 and are usually one of the first signs of ageing. The causes may be multifactorial; however, these hyperfunctional lines normally result from repeated contraction of the underlying facial musculature.
The forehead is a complex of the frontalis muscle with insertions onto fibres of the procerus, corrugator, depressor supercilii, and orbicularis muscles and it is these muscles that are targeted when treating the forehead.
The skin may play a larger role in causing lines in this area, due to the relative lack of fat here, compared to other facial areas. The sun can degrade the skin causing a loss of its abilty to ‘snap’ back into place.
Excessive forehead wrinkles can create an ‘angry’ or ‘annoyed’ appearance in an otherwise well rounded individual, which is the reason this procedure is one of the most highly requested and successful.
Botox Brow Lift
The non-surgical Botox Brow Lift is being recognised as one of the easiest methods of creating a more rejuvenated appearance. Patients often want a brighter look to their eyes and a higher brow using minimally invasive methods.
The eyelid, eyebrow and forehead muscles are intrinsically linked when administering Botox and it is this expert knowledge that allows Dr. Bharat Patel to get natural, pleasing results.
The targeted use of Botox relaxes the corrugator, procerus and orbicularis oculi muscles that pull the eyebrow down. The muscles that pull the brow up, such as the frontalis, can then function unopposed.
Different face shapes will suit certain eyebrow positions so the optimal position of your brow is assessed at your consultation and Botox administration is then undertaken to achieve that result.
Botox Neck Lift
An acute and juvenile neck contour is considered a foremost component in facial rejuvenation. Aging of the neck is mostly attributable to the result of skin laxity, accumulation of fat, platysma ptosis, laxity, and redundancy. In some cases Botox may be injected to produce a lifted appearance of the neck, often termed the Nefertiti lift.
Nefertiti has been the inspiration for women wanting a swan-like, youthful neck. The muscle targerted for a neck lift is the platysma which is a fan shaped muscle extending from the chest up the neck to the jaw.
Excessive sweating can be uncomfortable for many and Botox is a simple safe and effective treatment which can provide a solution that lasts for months.
Hyperhidrosis can either:
- Affect certain parts of the body, most commonly the armpits, hands, feet or face; this is known as focal hyperhidrosis; Most cases of focal hyperhidrosis have no obvious cause, although many experts believe that problems with the nervous system may be responsible.
- Affect the entire body, known as generalized hyperhidrosis.
Hyperhidrosis is a common condition. It is thought that there are currently over one million people in England affected by it. Botox is a powerful protein that can be used safely in minute doses. Around 12-20 injections of botulinum toxin are given in the affected areas of the body, such as the armpits, hands, feet or face.
The procedure takes about 30-45 minutes and there is no downtime. The protein works by blocking the signals to the sweat glands, reducing the amount of sweat that is produced. Clients usually see results within 48 hours of treatment, after which the symptoms of hyperhidrosis diminish greatly. The results of this treatment for hyperhidrosis with Botox typically last between six and twelve months, after which we would recommend that the procedure be repeated.

Dermal Filler Non-Surgical Facelift
Facial Volume loss contributes significantly to facial ageing. Volume deficits are a result of the loss and repositioning of facial fat as well as from skeletal remodelling. The 8-Point lift is a revolutionary concept that was pioneered to provide a means of administrating dermal fillers in specific areas to create a lifted, rejuvenated and younger appearance with no downtime.
The key areas that are addressed are the malar region, tear trough and infraorbital area, nasolabial fold and the effect of gravity, cheek bone definition and structure, mouth frown, pre-jowl area and jawline.
Your lift is custom after a thorough consultation and the 8-point lift is uniquely prescribed to provide the best results.
Below the main areas of injection are summarised:
Malar region- Volume loss here contributes to looking unwell and old.
Tear Trough and Infraorbital area – Concavity under the eye is due to changes in soft tissues and skeletal structure. This creates hollow depressions and flattening of the cheeks that can contribute towards a ‘tired look’ .
Nasolabial fold and the effect of gravity- Loss of elasticity combined with the effect of gravity can lead to more prominent Nasolabial Folds.Cheek Bone
Definition and Structure – Youthful Cheeks naturally have more volume which makes them smooth and well defined. With ageing this youthful definition is gradually lost as volume levels are depleted.
Mouth Frown – Over time there is a loss of the upward turning of the mouth corners
Prejowl Sulcus – The pre-jowl depression is the result of sagginess (skin laxity and subcutaneous fat loss and redistribution) that gradually appear with ageing and create a heavy appearance to the lower face.
Jaw Line – there is a loss of definition due to ageing.
Dermal Filler – Down turned Smile
Some individuals may have a dowturned smile at rest. This gives a sad or frowned appearance in one who is often a ‘happy’ individual. The muscle responsible for pulling the corners of the mouth down and grimacing is the depressor angular oris. It is a triangular muscle with the base along the border of the jaw and the apex near the commissural corner.
Selective and precise infiltration with Botox can result in a relaxation of these muscles and a slight upturn of the commissure, giving a more ‘happier’ appearance. The procedure is normally combined with dermal fillers such as restylane, juverderm or perlane to add additional support in this area and to accentuate the natural curve of the lateral lower lip upwards.
Dermal Filler – Cheeks
What Is Cheek Augmentation? Full and defined cheeks are a sign of youth and beauty. A loss of volume in the cheeks may be congenital or due to the ageing process. Cheeks that are flat may give rise to a sunken appearance or alternatively a saggy appearance, which then accentuates folds in other areas of the face.
Some may be born with naturally high cheekbones, however, this can be achieved by non- surgical means that restores volume and definition. The midface is an essential component of the face, and changes here can create a balanced and aesthetically pleasing result with no downtime.
Dermal Filler – Chin
The lower face plays a pivotal role in facial balance. Imbalance that is congenital or age-related can be corrected effectively. Dermal fillers can be used in different planes to bring the lower face into aesthetic proportons using various soft tissue cephalometric measurements.
The lower face, which was previously in balance however is no longer due to ageing, is assessed in a slightly different way, which takes into account the overall underlying tissues and muscular action to enable chin contour to be restored to previous youthful times. Several dermal volumisers can be used including Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Perlane, and the choice is made depending on the level of augmentation and rejuvenation needed.
Dermal Filler – Under Eyes
Tear Trough/Under eye can affect younger and older individuals and is characterised by a sunken appearance of the eye that results in the casting of a dark shadow over the lower eyelid, giving the patient a fatigued appearance in an otherwise well-rested person and is refractory to attempts at cosmetic concealment. The trough can become deeper, the circles darker, and often there may be a contributory flattening of the cheek in the older person. The upper and lower eyelids can lose elasticity and start to sag and fatty deposits under the lower eyelids can make this deformity worse.
Dr Bharat Patel uses advanced non-surgical techniques to correct tear trough taking into account the complete anatomy in this delicate area, a good improvement is possible in the younger and older patient.
Dermal Filler – Jowling
The pre-jowl sulcus is a term applied to the hollowing of an area on either side of the chin that is accentuated by the formation of jowls. Its cause is multifactorial, however, it is generally accepted that a decrease or remodelling of the underlying supporting structures results in this appearance.
The prejowl sulcus can be treated in isolation by the use of dermal fillers to restore the natural contours or can be treated as part of an eight point lift.
The dermal fillers in this area can also be extended to just below the oral commissure to upturn this area which results in a more ‘happier’ appearance at rest. The procedure can be combined with Botox targeting the depressors of the lower lip, which when relaxed result in a slight upturning of the commissure and, therefore, reducing the appearance of the pre-jowl sulcus.
Several dermal volumisers can be used including Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Perlane, the choice made is dependent on the level of correction and rejuvenation needed.
Dermal Filler – Nose to Mouth Lines
Nasolabial lines are the two skin folds that normally run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. These lines can appear at any age and contribute to an aged appearance. The main causes are drooping of the cheek mass, depressions (folds) and dermal attachments. The fold causes a demarcation of the upper cheek from the upper lip and therefore individuals seek to reduce the appearance of this fold, restoring youthful and smooth transitional contour.
The nose-mouth lines may appear earlier as minor depressed areas however become more visible from the late twenties partly due to mid-face descent and gravitational influence. The folds may sag to the extent where smiling only accentuates them and this is then at an advanced point.
Dermal fillers to diminish or eradicate these folds are commonly used and is one of the most requested procedure.
